It's been a season since we launched the VDP National Club League in partnership with Padel League UK — the biggest padel club league of its kind, spanning 18 divisions across all six VDP venues: Lincoln, Chichester, Hartlepool, Sheffield, Eston, and Guisborough.
The format was built to be genuinely open. Weekly matches with fair, skill-based matchups mean players of every level have a route into competitive padel, not just those already playing tournaments. Promotion and relegation each season keeps things moving, and the best teams from across the divisions get the chance to qualify for the National League Finals.
What we've learned
The biggest surprise hasn't been the competitive standard — though it's been higher than expected — it's been the community that's built up around it. Players who joined initially just to get more regular court time have ended up forming genuine friend groups, WhatsApp chats, and informal warm-up sessions before their scheduled matches.
It's also given our coaching teams a clearer picture of where players are progressing fastest, which is already shaping how we structure clinics and group sessions across all six clubs.
What's next
Registration for the next season opens soon, with the League continuing to grow across all VDP locations. Whether you're brand new to competitive play or looking for a proper season-long challenge, it's open to every level.
